The wild tale of Noah's Ark inspires a new conservation and photography project

This month, Melbourne Zoo welcomes ambitious new photography endeavour the National Geographic Photo Ark. Photographer Joel Sartore is on a mission to capture every species of wildlife living across the globe's zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, making for somewhat of a photographic Noah's Ark. So far he's managed to take portraits of more than 6,000 fierce and fascinating species.

After perusing the Melbourne Zoo's animals IRL, head to the exhibition, where you can see more than 50 of the National Geographic photographer's most impressive images of critters and creatures, many of which were captured at Melbourne Zoo. Entry to the exhibition is free with your admission to the zoo.
