American bourbon and beer are the focus of this Fitzroy party favourite
The fun times come thick and fast at late-night favourite the Kodiak Club. Taxidermy, kitsch American murals and a focus on bourbon and beers from the States add a divey vibe to this relaxed, northside haunt. Dirt-cheap mixers and easy-drinking Highballs ensure your night gets off to a flying start. Kick things off with a Paloma (tequila and pink grapefruit soda) or Purple Drank (gin, lime juice and grape Fanta), a steal at $10 a pop. Or plump for the double whammy of a Boilermaker: perhaps a 3 Ravens Dark Ale paired with house-infused bacon bourbon.
There's manly heft to the bar menu too, such as the fiery buffalo wings, which are deep fried then slathered in hot sauce, or the cheese-stuffed jalapeño bottlecaps. Upstairs, candlelit sister venue Little Blood Bar pours top-shelf tequilas on Friday and Saturday nights.
