Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

This alfresco drinking deck is vying for your affections with an arsenal of foliage, ’90s hip hop and botanical booze

There's a reason the queues snake down Meyer Place for Loop Roof. The breezy terrace above Loop Project Space & Bar promises sparkling city vistas, primary-bright lawn furniture, AstroTurf and lush garden beds. Calling it a city oasis isn't selling it too strongly. The garden vibe continues through to the drinks list, peppered with rose petals, pumpkin puree and exotic fruits, and with cocktails for a crowd served in dinky watering cans.

It's the new home of bar master Nathan Taylor, most recently seen pouring whisky and tequila at Fitzroy's Kodiak Club, so expect to see even boozier concoctions joining the lineup. There's also a strong list of craft beers for the after-work set, including cleansing Kooinda IPA and Feral Smoked Porter, plus a tight selection of crowd-pleasing wines. If knockoff drinks all-too-easily edge towards midnight, fortify yourself with inventive share plates, such as chorizo madeleines with whipped goat's curd.
