Australia’s biggest craft beverage collective, Mighty Craft, has opened its all-day gastropub in Moonee Ponds.
Owner and CEO of Mighty Craft Mark Haysman has teamed up with hospitality kingpin Dennis Ferreira (Vue de monde, Attica) and chef Adrian Corigliano (Fat Duck, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal) to deliver an experience you won’t soon forget.
The collective is committed to supporting independent craft breweries and distilleries, and patrons can expect to sample some of the finest craft brands in the country like Jetty Road Brewery, Foghorn Brewery and Torquay Beverage Company to name a few.
The Mighty is a three-level venue which has taken the bones of an old Sporting Globe and been decked out by Studio Y. The result is a venue that outwardly looks like something from the Jetsons, and floor-to-ceiling windows wrap around the corner-based site to make it airy and light-filled.
The space is utilised well with a public bar surrounded by larger tables and seating along the bar, a store where you can purchase a wide array of liquors and a late-night cocktail-y vibe when you head upstairs. There are hunter green walls, a wrap-around bar with a terrazzo top, wicker bar chairs and stools and lush green foliage, plus perfectly-spaced spirits adorning the back wall lit up by a calming white light.
There’s a bistro on-site as well which prides itself on delivering fresh, local produce with dishes like snapper ceviche spiked with jalapeño, coconut, lime and little hints of red onion. Or choose the freshly caught daily fish with crisp saltbush and warrigal greens in lemon myrtle butter.
But it's the extensive alcohol list that you come here for, including the signature Brogan’s Barrel o Negroni and the Kangaroo Island Spritz.
The Mighty also plans to host special events throughout the year like gin masterclasses, brewer sessions, curated dinners and a drinks festival.
