Time Out says

The Tasting Table brings real class to Armadale’s ever expanding bar scene. Drink in or take away at this bar/bottle shop/wine library

Most trains run express through Armadale, but you don’t have to. Take some time to stop and smell the Burgundy at this wine-shop-come-cellar-door, run by importer, owner and Brit-expat Jack Mullard (once a wine adviser to the Royal Family, a pretty big bragging right in our opinion). There are over 400 wine varieties, with bottles ranging in price from $11 to $15,000. A weekly rotation of 15 are on pour thanks to fancy Enomatic wine dispensers that keep each at the perfect temperature without risk of oxidisation. You can get a 25ml sip or a 150ml swill of rare wines without having to throw your whole wallet at the register. If you like them, however, take a whole case home with you. It’s not like getting sloshed at Dan Murphy’s either. Here you have a concrete walled room with warm, polished wood finishings and international wine magazines. Relax on leather lounges and choose your poison from the bottle-lined walls to knock back in-house for $5 corkage (that’s per bottle, not per person). Packing? Get a heavily laden board of French cheeses and charcuterie. The events calendar is sure to keep your dance card full with evenings dedicated to delicious crash courses in everything from the intricacies of Oregon’s finest pinot noir to the undiscovered gems of Portugal and Spain. Be careful though, you may pop in for a quickie and end up on the express train to can't-pay-the-rent.
