Whether you want to kick off the celebrations early at a Cup Day eve party or get started on race day with a bottomless brunch, these venues are helping you to celebrate the race that stops the nation in style. Watch the race on huge screens, frock up for best dressed competitions and then get down to DJs at a banging after party. These are some top spots to get involved in Melbourne Cup festivities this year. After Cup Day each of the venues will also be celebrating Oaks and Stakes Days with after parties as well.

The Smith is hidden just off Chapel Street, and on Cup Day you can head in for a luxe three-course lunch and a glass of prosecco for just $45. They’ll be showing the race in the restaurant. Happy hour will run early from noon until 4pm, with $6 prosecco, house wines, basic spirits and Smith beer, then from 4pm you can enjoy two-for-one cocktails in the Atrium.

This chic Richmond bar will warm up for Cup Day with a Melbourne Cup Eve Party, complete with DJs and a free glass of bubbles on arrival. On the big day head in early for a bottomless brunch from 11am for $55pp, where you can enjoy Mimosas, prosecco, moscato, Fargo’s Spritz and a choose-your-own brunch plate. The race will be shown live on screens and there will be sweepstakes, best dressed prizes, happy hour and DJs.

Trinket

This Flinders Lane hot spot will be hosting after parties on every major race day, including Melbourne Cup. Continue the party after the races and skip the queue as a VIP by RSVPing on Trinket's Facebook, then get down to DJ Lauren Mac from 7pm. Also you can guarantee your group a spot with group bookings available.

Imperial South Yarra

This Chapel Street bar will be popping bottles this spring racing carnival. Cup Day and all major race days mean three hours of bottomless Bellinis, Mimosas, bubbly and wine for just $45pp (booking encouraged), and the races will be shown on huge TVs throughout the venue.

The Provincial Hotel

The party kicks off early with the Provincial's Cup Day Eve Party, with DJs from 7pm. Then on the big day they'll be hosting a rooftop bottomless brunch from 11am for $60pp. The race will be shown live and loud downstairs, followed by an after party with live entertainment from 4pm. The Fitzroy venue will also host more race day shenanigans on Derby, Oaks and Stakes Days, with $12 cocktails and after parties each race day.

Kickstart your Melbourne Cup morning with a long brunch, accompanied by Martinis, Bellinis and Mimosas. The menu includes classic eggs benedict with leg ham, tomato and chilli bruschetta and buttermilk pancakes. The bottomless brunch costs $60pp.
