A giant ice slide is coming to Southbank

It's like we're getting our own fjord to play with in the CBD! Borrowing the concept from our Canadian mates, Eureka Skydeck is expanding its stable of fun times for winter when it installs a 40 metre long and four metre high ice slide in the heart of Southbank.

Basically, you need to rug up and then enjoy a ride on a giant inflatable tube down the ice flow. Plus, if you're feeling particularly confident, your can race your mates – there's twin sliding lanes just for that purpose.

Fuze Tea will be on hand to provide a free iced tea for every slider, a selection of food trucks will be available to satisfy post-sliding munchies and you'll get discounted admission to Fed Square's ice-skating rink.

Some of the proceeds will go to Variety: The Children's Charity.

In the meantime, enjoy... You're welcome.
