Here's a terrifying piece of information for you: Harry Potter was born on July 29, 1980, which means that he's turning 36 this year.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Presumably, he'll be celebrating alongside Ginny and his three unfortunately named children (James Sirius, Albus Severus and Lily Luna, if you've blocked out the epilogue from your memory and needed a refresher).

While Harry is sipping a festive butterbeer on the date of his birth, you could be partying with your fellow Muggles at one of Melbourne's best nightclubs: Brown Alley

What's a real-deal club like Brown Alley doing hosting Harry Potter's birthday party, you ask? Well, aside from the fact that the brick-walled venue looks slightly like a (very) poor man's Hogwarts, the event is actually being run by a group called The Peeve's Gang, who devote their time to planning Potter-related events.

Rock up on Friday July 29 in your best dress robes and get set for an evening of free-flowing butterbeer and firewhisky. There'll be a magic beasts demonstration, a free photobooth and enough sweet tunes to get you through to 6am the next morning.

Potter fans, you know what to do. Accio tickets!

Harry Potter's Birthday Party. Brown Alley, Fri Jul 29. $10-$20.
