Batten down the hatches: There's a wild storm coming

It's official people, the warm autumn weather is well and truly over for now. You may have woken up to a sunny autumn morning, but brace yourself for some wild weather today with strong winds predicted to hit Melbourne's metropolitan area at around 4pm. This follows a similarly rough storm early Sunday morning last weekend, which woke Melburnians up with strong winds and thunder in the wee hours.

The Bureau of Meteorology also reports that severe wind gusts are likely to whip up the tides and waves in the bay area, with a gale warning in place on Tuesday for the Port Phillip area. The wild windy weather also looks to be accompanied by some rainfall in the afternoon, so we hope your pets are inside and you won't find your deck chairs on the neighbour's roof later today.

That said, we do live in Melbourne... so the weather could turn out like this:
