The sweet-toothed, teenage doughnut prince Morgan Hipworth is making doughnut ice cream sandwiches out of his first bricks and mortar shop Bistro Morgan. The 15-year-old has teamed up with gelateria 7 Apples to bring you his take on the classic summer treat, which is available from January 27 at the Windsor store.
Bistro Morgan's signature ice cream sambos include the Golden Gaytime number (pictured below) that is a Golden Gaytime doughnut filled with honeycomb ice cream, Gaytime crumb and a salted caramel drizzle. Traditionalists will no doubt baulk at the concept, but if your approach is more "the more the merrier", then this is the combo dessert for you. The Ferrero Rocher ice cream sandwich is one for the chocolate fiends: a Ferrero Rocher topped doughnut filled with Nutella ice cream, hazelnut crumb, and a dark chocolate drizzle. Other options include the Fruit Loops, Cookies and Cream and Snickers ice cream sandwiches. The best part about this special edition menu is customers can also build their own ice cream sandwiches from the doughnut to the toppings with whatever doughnuts are available in store daily.
