Melbourne Central's Denim Drive wants to your old jeans

Looking a little JT and Britney in their ultra-denim outfit? It may be time to swap your old pants for a fresh new pair at Melbourne Central's Denim Drive. Throughout April 1-30, the Guest Services Desk at Melbourne Central will be accepting old denim items, think hip-hugging jeans circa 2003, the denim skirt you've outgrown, or the shorts you haven't worn for two years. Your old gear will be sent to Melbourne-based do-gooders and social enterprises BeeKeeper and HoMie, who will repurpose the old threads.

You might see those Levi's overalls you don't fit into anymore turned into a backpack or iPad cover by BeeKeeper, a business based at Melbourne Central which turns unwanted clothing into snazzy backpacks. Proceeds from the sale of these items will go towards paying for a Cambodian child's education for an entire year.

In return for your donation, you will receive a denim discount voucher to use at participating retailers at Melbourne Central. See below for the bargains you can score on your new threads:

- Cotton On: 25% off full priced jeans

- General Pants Co: 20% off full-priced denim

- Jeans West: $20 off full-priced jeans

- Dotti: $20 off full-priced jeans

- Nique: 30% off denim items

- Levi's: free wallet with every full-priced denim purchase
