The beating heart of the Melbourne Fringe Festival is its raucous club, where art-loving audiences dance and drink at themed parties presented by different performers every night. Kick things off at the Arty Farty Opening Party hosted by cabaret diva Geraldine Quinn with DJ Whiskey Houston (Thu Sep 14); break out your best Buffy or The Craft-inspired costume at the schlocky, dark arts party Splatter! (Fri Sat 15); and raise a sledgehammer to male privilege at Hyper-Fragility, presented by performers Candy Bowers and Victoria Chiu (Sat Sep 16). Queer theatre collective Little Ones will pay tribute to “the world’s most unholy queer icon, George Michael” at Faith (Fri Sep 22) and much-loved LGBT performer Mama Alto will host Transcendent (Wed Sep 27) – a binary-smashing celebration of all (or no) genders.
