Melbourne's home of rap and hip hop parties three nights a week in Fitzroy
Fitzroy’s Laundry Bar is a stalwart of Melbourne’s late night club scene. Having seen the death of many of its Johnston Street neighbours, Laundry Bar stands, beer in hand, saluting to the weekend.
Over two levels, Laundry drops rap and hip hop three nights a week. This crowd loves to get down and dirty on the dancefloor – expect anything from resident DJs to major touring acts to up-an-coming Melbourne artist to be slinging tunes as you slosh your way through the night. It’s more of a sneakers and streetwear than a heel and collars kind of place, but then again – anything goes in Fitzroy on a Friday. Celebrating something big? Treat your crew to a VIP booth with bottle service.
Laundry boasts three dedicated nights: No Frills Thursdays, Party and Bullshit Fridays and Big Dancing Saturdays. With international artists and local DJs spinning tracks, Laundry kicks on until the wee hours of Sunday morning when you’re all out of Drake dance moves. It's not uncommon for a queue to build outside of Laundry Bar as the night rolls on, so get in early if you don't want to wait. Plus entry is free before 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays (and all night on Thursdays) so it pays to be an early bird.
