Time Out says

Enjoy some shutdown-friendly live comedy with this pay-what-you-feel service

When things are bad sometimes all you can do is laugh about it. Serious Comedy is a series of livestreamed comedy nights that lets you pay what you feel for your laughs.

The platform kicked off during the first shutdowns in March, following the eleventh-hour cancellation of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival – which was set to feature many of the comedians now performing on Serious Comedy.

Shows are performed via Zoom, and audiences can book their tickets using a pay-what-you-can system. So you can score tickets for between $5 and $30 – or even totally for free if you're currently having a hard time financially (as the arts and live performance industries have been given a walloping by the pandemic, please do pay what you're able).

Comedians with upcoming shows on Serious Comedy include Louisa Fitzhardinge, Jude Perl and DJ-turned-comedian-turned-Cher support act Andrew McClelland.
