Sydney Dance Company's first show in 2017 will celebrate artistic director Rafael Bonachela's eighth year at the helm with a new work titled 'Ocho' (spanish for 'eight'), set to music by frequent collaborator Nick Wales. The guest for the season is Taiwanese choreographer Cheng Tsung–lung, head of Cloud Gate 2 Theatre. This will be the first time the company has collaborated with a choreographer from Asia. Cheng has created 'Full Moon' for the company – a tribute to and reflection on how Chinese and Taiwanese people relate to the moon.
