Sand Sculpting Australia brings this classic tale to life in sand

[Sponsored] This summer Sand Sculpting Australia will be bringing Aladdin and the Arabian Tales to life at Frankston waterfront, using a cool 3,500 tonnes of sand (that's the weight of around 1,750 cars).

The magical tale and its cast of colourful characters including Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Jafar, Genie and Abu will all be carefully carved out of sand, for what's set to be the largest sand exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere. It will take 20 Australian and international sculptors around 5000 hours to carve and add the finishing touches to this huge display. The entirety of the sculpture is made out of 100 per cent sand, and it's then sprayed with a biodegradable glue, to ensure the sculptures stay put in inclement weather.

Throughout the school holidays there will also be special kid's activities including quizzes, face painting, roving entertainment, DIY sand sculpting workshops and a sand play pit.
