A Teens Art Party is coming to the National Gallery of Victoria’s MoMA exhibition
This one is for the cultured teens and the teens with taste, but mostly it’s for the art geeks who are constantly covered in paint.
On September 22 the NGV is bringing back its Teens Art Party for its sixth year, and offering teens after-hours exclusive access to its latest major exhibition, MoMA at the NGV: 130 Years of Modern and Contemporary Art.
Best of all, attendees will get to see works by names like Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh, Salvador Dalí and Georgia O’Keeffe. Among the pieces on display are Van Gogh’s Portrait of Joseph Roulin and Kahlo’s Self-portrait with Cropped Hair.
The night will feature an 'art battle', a competition where participants battle it out against the clock and the other contestants to create their own work of brilliance on stage, as well as 17-year-old entrepreneur Mordan Hipworth’s scrumptious New York City-inspired doughnuts.
The NGV’s teen art parties have attracted over 6000 guests.
The party runs from 6-9pm and tickets are $15 for members and $18 for students aged 13-17 with valid secondary school ID.
