Time Out says

Know a young person with a flair for drama? Got a kid at home who insists they are the next Céline Sciamma? These holidays you can nurture the theatrical youth in your life with some world-class summer workshops from Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). The classes range from one-day-only to over several weeks and take young people through skills like drama, acting for stage and screen, TV presenting, filmmaking, writing and design.

Led by professional artists and teachers the program of classes is packed with diverse options. Your littlest ones can enjoy a Hogwarts-themed screen acting course (year 3-6) or try their hand at being Peter Hitchener for a couple of days with a TV news presenting class (year 3-6). For highschoolers there's loads of options too, like improv workshops (year 7-10) and a booster Acting 101 course for seniors (year 11-12).

This year NIDA Open will be available to young people in two different Melbourne venues –NIDA Melbourne in Southbank and Abbottsford Convent. You can search for classes by using the location filter or browse the full suite of Melbourne offerings here.

Courses start from December 14 and run until January 24, 2021. NIDA Open also accepts the NSW government-issued Creative Kids vouchers and if you book four weeks in advance you'll also receive a ten per cent discount. Find out more here.
