This is a musical comedy based on Jackie French and Bruce Whatley’s picture book of the same name about a shearer named Shaun and his shearing partner Pete, a sheep.
Shaun resists taking on a sheep dog to round up his flock, preferring to work with his woolly mate. The shearers who make fun of them are shown what's what when Shaun and Pete set up a shearing salon in town and clean up. It’s a true-blue Aussie tale about mateship and the importance of taking a stand against the flock.
Pete the Sheep stars four performers from the award-winning Monkey Baa Theatre Company, who play shearers, sheep and dogs. Coming in at 50 minutes, this show isn't too taxing for little attention spans. Good for ages four up and there's an Auslan interpreted performance at 2pm on Sat July 30.
