Turn those locked-in-weekend frowns upside down with this ultra-special virtual event for kids. The award-winning children's entertainers, The Mik Maks have devised a 45-minute interactive live show that's perfect for streaming and Geelong Arts Centre will be broadcasting it from their Facebook page this weekend. It's the perfect way to start the school holidays.
Named after one of their hit songs 'Working on the Farm', The Mik Maks live show will contain all the danceable hits and colourful fun kids adore. Brothers Al and Joel will be joined by their furry friend Drums the Panda as they complete tasks for Grandpa, singing along the way. Expect classic songs from their joyful oeuvre like the show's namesake 'Working on the Farm' alongside 'Bellybuttons', 'Groovy Mover' and some fresh new tracks chucked into the mix too.
Kids are encouraged to participate in the show by interacting with the Facebook Live stream. There will be parts of the show where they can ask questions, make song requests and send 'cheerios' in real time as The Mik Maks perform.
The Mik Maks show is part of Geelong Arts Centre's ongoing digital program. They've been providing fabulous and free online cultural events during lockdown that have kept Aussie audiences big and small entertained. You can keep their programs afloat and show your support by donating here. Any contribution, big or smal, will go directly to helping Geelong Arts Centre continue their digital and IRL programs into the future.
Warm up your wi-fi, register your family's virtual spot here, and be sure to tune into Geelong Arts Centre's Facebook Page at 1pm on Saturday June 27 for all The Mik Maks play-along fun.
