Time Out says

The free kids’ playground is returning to take over Docklands these school holidays

A world of fun, imagination and sensory exploration awaits as the Docklands transforms into a giant, interactive playground from Thursday April 21 to Sunday April 24.

Newquay Central Park and Newquay Promenade will be filled with a series of immersive urban play spaces that are ready to delight and inspire kids aged 4-12 years with performances and creative activities daily from 10am to 6pm.

Step into the enchanted world of Kittycorn, Rainbowcorn, Funkicorn and their Fairy Friends in Unicorn Garden, a dreamy land of marshmallow trees, magical creatures and princess thrones. Kids will have the opportunity to meet the Unicorns, play with the Fairies and make their own Unicorn Crown or Dragon Tail.

Ever dreamed of running away to join the circus? Now's your chance in this fully interactive circus-themed playground, Circus Street. Be wowed by the Great Disappearing Tunnels of Fire (don't worry, they’re not really on fire), the Amazing Balancing Act, and Magic Mirrors. Visit the fantastic Popcorn stage to join the clowns and other costumed characters for circus workshops. Carnival rides and a sideshow alley complete this fun and immersive circus experience.

Did you know that one third of Victoria's animal species are found in the Yarra catchment? All kinds of fish, birds, reptiles, mammals and frogs call the river and harbour home, and the Yarra River of Giants is a great way to make environmental education a fun experience while learning about our most beloved, and endangered, wildlife. Kids can crawl inside Eleanor the Eel's cavernous tail, climb up Pam the Platypus and play in Murray the Cod's giant cubbyhouse of a mouth. Expert puppeteers will be teaching little ones how to make their very own frog puppet to take home.

Be sure to also catch The Whale’s Tale – a 45-minute interactive show – at 11am and 2pm. You can also battle it out with your friends and family in the Nerf zone. It's free to play but you'll need to register for a session on-site.

The Playground is supported by City of Melbourne, the Victorian Government and Development Victoria.
