'Potluck’ – the tradition of bringing a meal to a dinner party – has been around for over 400 years. Back in the day, you’d bring a dish, and then after dinner, you’d gather round to hear a song played on the host’s piano. Now, in partnership with our friends at Sonos, we’re bringing both of those traditions back to life.
Sonos want you to host a playlist potluck dinner party, and instead of bringing the dishes, we want guests to bring along the music.
Invite your friends to create a potluck playlist with you and you’ll have a chance to play host to the ultimate dinner party. The means one of Australia's top chefs cooking a specially tailored menu, at your place, for you and five mates.
Other prizes include a starter pack from Sonos so you can always fill your house with music, whether you’re entertaining or not.
Feeling nervous? Don’t be. You’re not the first person in the world to throw a playlist potluck party. Anthony Bourdain and Danny Bowien have done it (they played Van Halen and Willie Nelson, FYI).
In fact, we’ve thrown our own playlist potluck dinner parties too. Watch this space for more details on those events, and in the meantime register your playlist by December 31 for your chance to win. And then maybe crank the tunes you chose on New Year’s Eve. ’Tis the season, after all.
