Celebrate Milk! Records' ten-year birthday with listening to Courtney Barnett and other special guests

Christmas is coming early with the news that the critically acclaimed Melbourne singer Courtney Barnett will perform at her label Milk! Records' tenth birthday party.

Skilled in finding beauty in the mundane with her nonchalant singing style and scintillatingly witty lyrics, catch the Antipodean singer-songwriter as she brings her deadpan repartee to audiences at Milk! Records on December 22 and 23.

The Melbourne-based independent label - founded by Courtney Barnett and Jen Cloher in 2012 to release Barnett’s “I’ve Got a Friend Called Emily Ferris’ EP - will host two shows in Melbourne to commemorate their 10th anniversary.

Over time, the label’s profile has enjoyed a meteoric rise into one of the country’s most prominent independent label signing artists such as Liz Stringer, Messe Esque, Loose ToothEvelyn Ida Morris, HachikuThe Finks and international artists like Sleater-Kinney and Chastity Belt.

The ‘Avant Gardener’ singer first broke into the mainstream with her first full-length debut, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, which landed Barnett a spot in the U.S. top 20 and top five in Australia with nominations from the Brits and Grammys.

Her second LP, Tell Me How You Really Feel, became her highest-charting effort in Australia, reaching number two on the album chart on release in 2018. It was followed by her third album, 2021’s Things Take Time, Take Time which focuses on celebrating life's small joys and everyday moments.
