Time Out says

Shaquille O’Neal, NBA superstar and DJ, is headed to Melbourne

Club shows can be hit and miss but this one is surely a slam dunk. Shaquille O'Neal, famous NBA star and now DJ Diesel, is headed to Melbourne to play a club show for one night only at 170 Russell on August 24.

The basketball superstar, Hall of Famer and four-time NBA championship winner is in Australia for a series of speaking events, titled An Evening With Shaquille O’Neal, but while he is here he will be taking up the decks for a live set.

“I’m really excited for this long-awaited tour to come to Australia,” says O’Neal. “It’s my first time back in such a long time and I can’t wait to see you Aussies down under.”

DJ Diesel isn’t O’Neal’s first foray into music, having released a number of rap albums back in the 90s. His 1993 debut, Shaq Diesel, was double platinum certified, and inspired his newest moniker. As DJ Diesel, he has played the U.S Formula 1, and picked up guest appearances at Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland and Imagine.

Tickets are selling fast, with the first release and early bird options having already sold out. Book for his August 24 club show here.
