This year, Melbourne Music Week’s hub will be the grand St Paul’s Cathedral, and US singer Julianna Barwick will be first to try it out. Born in Louisiana, Barwick has since moved to Brooklyn where she weaves electronic loops with hauntingly beautiful vocals, which are sure to sound heavenly in the expanse of the cathedral. She’ll be supported on opening night by American folk darling Kath Bloom, as well as Geelong ambient-metal artists Divide and Dissolve.
