A hip hop block party for a good cause

On Sunday August 13, Brunswick music den the Penny Black will host a block party for a good cause.

The event will raise funds for Oxfam’s initiative Oxjam, whose mission is to fight poverty and homelessness worldwide. The party comes via event company Sensible Antixx who have teamed up with beer connoisseurs Young Henrys to showcase some of Australia’s hip hop best.

Head along to see the likes of L Fresh the Lion, Mantra, N’Fa Jones, Mistress, Dex, Charlie Threads and Emerald spitting rhymes on stage while local street artists create live graffiti drawing throughout the event. These designs will then be raffled off to the public, with proceeds going to Oxfam.

Wet your whistle with drink specials by the folks at Young Henrys, 42 Below Vodka and Bacardi Fuego, with 50 percent of every drink also going to Oxfam.

Tickets are $15, with Oztix donating half the booking fee to the cause as well.
