Time Out says

Melbourne's high-energy larrikins play the Sidney Myer Music Bowl for one night only

Now this is what we call a party. The Cat Empire are bringing their huge back catalogue and their joyful stage presence to an open-air gig at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl that could well bring Melbourne back to life in one fell swoop.

Part of the Arts Centre Melbourne Live at the Bowl series, the concert will take place on Saturday March 6, with high priestess of soul Kylie Audist in the support slot.

If you know the Cat Empire then you can bet the boys have been hanging out for this. They have built their career on international touring, playing to adoring crowds from Kuala Lumpur to Montreal, Barcelona to Bucharest. Coming off the road in the middle of touring their 2019 album Stolen Diamonds, the band recently got back on stage at the Summersalt Festival at the Briars Mornington – one of the very few major festivals happening anywhere around the world – and are now ecstatic to announce a headlining show in the heart of Melbourne.

"The Cat Empire has always thrived on the live experience," says frontman Felix Riebl. "The Sidney Myer Music Bowl show promises to be a real homecoming.”

Tickets are on sale now – best not hestitate. Gates open at 6.30pm, and the headliners will take the stage at 8.45pm.
