Time Out says

Party simultaneously with our Kiwi brethren at this art and music party

What are your usual Friday night plans? Dinner? Clubbing? Netflix and chill? Do something a little different on Friday August 3 with a live art party at Section 8. The Experiment spans two cities, ten hours and more than 50 artists, musicians and DJs for a massive party happening simultaneously in Melbourne and Auckland, New Zealand.

Started by New Zealand arts agency Monster Valley, this is the first time the Experiment has come to Australia thanks to the work of Crate Mates (a vinyl-based collective aimed at creating diverse experiences different to your regular club night).

Highlights of the free Friday night party include four-storey projections by Fiona Shewan, Anna Kennedy and Jutta Pryor, installations by Hayden Allen, a larger-than-life rubber sculpture by Ember Fairbairn and an interactive artwork in Tattersalls lane by John Lim.

On the music line-up punters can look forward to the likes of Tony Chocoloney, Touchwood, Stephen Brooks and more. And you'll be able to watch guests at the Auckland iteration of the experiment party down too, with the simultaneous events been live streamed to each other.

The art component of the Experiment takes places from 3pm to 6pm, while the music and projections will kick off at 5pm.
