Time Out says

They're taking the hobbits to Hamer Hall this May

Hold onto your hobbits, because it's been more than 20 years since the first film in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy came out. And to celebrate the 20th anniversary, Arts Centre Melbourne is hosting a concert dedicated to Howard Shore's mellifluous music from the films as well as the songs made famous by Enya and Annie Lennox.

The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit: the Concert is set to immerse you once again in the fantastical lands of Middle Earth when it arrives (never late, precisely when it means to) at Hamer Hall on May 16, 2022.

Featuring a symphonic orchestra, choir and special guests, the concert experience will take you from the hillside homes of the Shire to the magical forests of the elves and to the dark, desolate lands of Mordor. Nearly 100 performers are signed on to create the magical evening, which will showcase some of the most popular songs from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.

Tickets for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit: the Concert are on sale now.
