Time Out says

The Grammy-nominated lyricist is bringing her surrealism to Australian stages

When Tierra Whack released her debut album, Whack World, in 2018, it was immediately clear that she was as much a surrealist artist as she is a rapper. The album, which clocks in at just 15 minutes, features 15 tracks that are each just one minute long.

It's an audiovisual album at heart, and Whack created a fantastical 15-minute music video to accompany the project. From lighthearted tracks like 'Fruit Salad', which encourages listeners to drink water and eat their vegetables, and 'Hungry Hippo', a buoyant ode to sugar daddies, Tierra takes on a variety of personas.

Whack has yet to put out a sophomore album, but she's kept our interest piqued with EP releases like Rap? and R&B?, which continue to showcase that sense of surrealism and whimsy from her first project.

Catch Whack when she takes the stage at Splendour in the Grass or at one of her sideshows, including a performance at 170 Russell on July 27. General public tickets go on sale from 9am on Monday, February 14 through the Moshtix website
