It’s going to take a lot more than an asteroid to stop the British electronic artist Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. The Grammy-nominated and LA-based electronic DJ (real name Orlando Higginbottom) has just announced his When The Lights Go tour for May 2023.
Kicking off in Brisbane on May 9, the DJ-dino will perform at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on May 11. He will also play shows in Sydney on May 12 and Perth on May 13.
Celebrated for criss-crossing the world of live electro-pop and club-oriented production, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs first crashed into the mainstream with the single ‘Garden’ in 2010. The Oxford-raised DJ has since released a trail of EPs, singles and collaborations, including two full albums, Trouble (2012) and When The Lights Go (2022).
The latest album is an acclaimed seventeen-track journey of soundscapes and dancefloor-filling grooves featuring singles like ‘Crosswalk’, ‘Blood In The Snow’, ‘The Sleeper’, ‘Forever’ and ‘Never Seen You Dance.’
As well as his solo projects, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs has worked with some of the best in the electronic field, including on Bonobo’s Grammy-nominated ‘Heartbreak’, the Knocks’ ‘Walking On Water’ and Dillon Francis’ ‘Without You.’ He has also released official remixes for the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Sky Ferreira and Disclosure.
