Time Out says

The wistful Australian rock band are returning to the stage and proving they’re forever young

The year was 2006, a time filled with flip phones and people had iPods not iPhones. Everyone was watching The OC on their TVs (not Stan) and everyone collectively swooned, then immediately downloaded ‘Forever Young’ by Sydney-based band Youth Group.

Well, Youth Group was always more than a one-song pony and the band is going back on tour this spring. The band formed in the 1990s and released four albums between 2001 and 2008, including Casino Twilight Dogs which included the popular cover of Alphaville’s song ‘Forever Young’.

The band’s fifth album Australian Halloween will be released on October 11 and (if their new single ‘Cusp’ is anything to go by) will be just as comfortably shoegaze-y as their previous LPs. The album release will be followed by an east coast tour – Melbourne, you can see Youth Group live at the Northcote Social Club on Friday, November 8.
