The Zoo Twilights concert series returns this summer with an amazing line-up and more

Hold on to your safari hats, Melbourne – we’re in for a wild musical ride.

Melbourne Zoo Twilights summer concert series has been announced, and this year's line-up will no doubt see thousands flock to the zoo for a night of live music under the stars.

This year's line-up is truly spectacular. The opening weekend will see Peter Garrett and The Alter Egos take to the stage along with Ball Park Music and The Jungle Giants. If Aussie rock is your thing, then don’t miss the chance to see the recently reformed Killing Heidi, as well as ABBA tribute band Björn Again and george. The Living End and The Rubens have already sold out tickets to their first gigs, but second shows have been announced for both artists.

On the international front, American singer-songwriter Kurt Vile is sure to be a highlight, as well as LA-based indie rock band Warpaint. Hailing from Canada is much-loved indie pop duo Tegan and Sara, plus the inimitable singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright. To cap off the killer line-up, veteran ska outfit The Specials will bring the season to a close with their funky sound. Get in quick and buy your tickets soon if you don't want to miss seeing your favourite bands live at the zoo.

Topping the line-up, of course, are the Zoo's wild residents. All proceeds from the Zoo Twilights summer concert series will be going back towards the zoo's conservation work, including their work to save the Eastern Barred Bandicoot from extinction.

No Zoo Twilights night is complete without a gourmet picnic – pre-order a hamper with your tickets or check out the Taste of Twilights dining zone on the night for street eats from Melbourne's best food trucks. Grab your tickets soon, because they won’t last. Zoo Twilights tickets also include exclusive zoo entry from 5.30-7pm before the show (Zoo Twilights tickets do not include entry to the zoo prior to 5.30pm).
