Looks like Fed Square’s getting an iso makeover. The city’s usually busy hub will be receiving a $20 million injection from the state government’s $2.7 billion Building Works stimulus program in order to improve visitor experiences of Fed Square.

A few of the expected upgrades include new lighting to improve safety (and highlight the distinctive architecture of the Square), new signage and site accessibility, as well as the new Regional Experience Centre. This is being touted as an “immersive” venue that will showcase the state’s “best food and wine, music and culture”. Deakin Edge theatre and other spaces are expected to be upgraded too, to better support upcoming events.

The upgrades don’t have an end date yet, but at least there’s something to look forward to post-iso.
