Although indoor socialising is off the cards for the moment, spending time in the sunshine and fresh air is still on the OK list, as long as everyone is feeling healthy and well and takes proper precautions (plenty of hand washing, staying 1.5 metres from others, and other social distancing measures). And given the state of the supermarkets at the minute, being able to stock up on fresh produce while you're outside enjoying the air seems like a welcome relief.

Sanders Apples in the Yarra Valley is holding U-Pick sessions for Kanzi apples on Saturday and Sunday, where punters can wander around the trees and pick their own juicy delights to take home. There's plenty of space in the orchard, so everyone can make sure to keep to their own space. The sessions run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22.

Ticket prices are $12.50 for individuals or $15 for couples, including 2kg of apples to take home. Groups of four can come in for $25, including 4kg of apples.

Wanting to stay in and feast instead? One of our favourite barbecue joints is now doing delivery.
