Star Wars and Mexico may have next to nothing in common, but the people behind the Lucha Fantastica Mexican wrestling show also happen to be Star Wars fans and they're hosting this all-out fiesta to celebrate International Star Wars Day (May 4) and Cinco de Mayo (May 5), the Mexican celebration of the Battle of Puebla.
Brown Alley will serve as the interstellar base of the fiesta, which will host a line-up of bands including Mexican Sonidero-influenced sounds of The Cumbia Cosmonauts, the Sin Frontera Mariachi band (the only Mariachi band in Melbourne), and DJ Don Salazar who bring along an explosion of Latino beats.
Costumes (either Mexican or Star Wars-themed) are highly recommended and a galactic piñata will settle once and for all the toughest fighter of the day.
