Time Out says

Spend your lunch break in Italy at this classy Little Collins Street establishment

Massi has a strong following among the city’s lunch crowd and it’s not hard to see why. The chic Italian restaurant has all the hallmarks of a traditional osteria – good service, a cosy atmosphere and simple, delicious food – with enough class to impress even the most finicky client.

Massi is part of the Joseph Vargetto hospitality family, with the restaurant named after Vargetto’s youngest son. Like at sister venue Mister Bianco, the menu draws from Vargetto’s heritage and travels, blending traditional Italian and Sicilian flavours with modern techniques.

Try the fresh housemade pasta for a workday lunch that will have you smiling all afternoon: with options like pappardelle with rich osso bucco ragù, ricotta gnocchi with wild rabbit and pumpkin and amaretti ravioli on offer there’s plenty to choose from. Of course, if you’d like a lunch light on the carbs, might we suggest the barbecued tuna with fried capers?

Drop by Massi in the afternoon for drinks at the restaurant's slick marble bar. There are also small bites on offer: think 'nduja and casalinga salumi. At night the suits drop off in favour of foodie tourists and locals out with friends – if that sounds like you, try the sharing set menu featuring a chef’s selection of stuzzichini, pasta, a main and a dessert.
