It looks like there’s no stopping the rise of Melbourne’s food truck culture – and we’re not complaining one bit. Following the success of Welcome to Thornbury – where you need to be eagle-eyed and speedy to get a table on the weekend – Auburn Early Bird Truck Park is now serving up tasty street eats from Wednesday to Sunday from 7am to 3pm, with a view to opening a licensed bar on Friday nights soon.
Hop off the train at Auburn Station and it’s just a short walk to the verdant truck park. Arrive first thing in the morning and you’ll find the super-sustainable BeanToMelbourne coffee tricycle. As the day goes on, take your pick from the likes of Doughboys Doughnuts, Toasta Food Truck, Mr Burger, Baskerville Jaffles, Danger Dogs, Sliders on Tyres and more.
