Burn City Smokers are heading to the beach this summer holidays

The team behind Burn City Smokers are taking their Southern-style barbecue operations to the coast this summer as they set up in the defunct Mornington restaurant Counting House for six weeks from December 16 to January 29. Co-founders Steve Kimonides and Raphael Guthrie will be taking their smoker trailer along for the drive down to the BBQ Beach Boutique as they transform the old restaurant space into a smokehouse for the summer.

Diners can expect Burn City Smokers' signature 10-hour smoked beef short ribs and brisket burgers, which will be served with mac and cheese, grilled corn and a passionfruit tart to sweeten the deal. On the drinks front, the Burn City team are keeping things local, sourcing wines from local Mornington wineries and breweries including Quealy Winemakers, Port Phillip Estate, Crittenden Wines and Mornington Brewery.

The menu at the BBQ Beach Boutique is made for big spreads at the restaurants, but are also available to takeaway if you'd rather eat by the beach. The pop-up will open everyday from December 16 to January 29 (excluding Christmas Day) from 7.30am for simple breakfast toasties, coffee and Bloody Marys.
