Time Out says

Like its namesake, the coffee from Gold Drops is naturally sweet from their unique way of processing, as if you've dropped some golden syrup into your cup.

It’s coffee, but not quite as you know it. Gold Drops specialise in naturally processed coffee. Unwashed, the beans are left to dry with the fruit still on. It’s a process that takes weeks and results in an intensely sweet and fruity cup of coffee. To really grasp the difference between this and washed beans, try a long black. It’s a light, tangy cherry cup with a sweet aftertaste. The store feels like a cross between an espresso bar and a bakery, with smooth marble benchtops, black racks filled with coffee paraphernalia and chopping boards stacked with cakes. If you need a snack to accompany your coffee, we recommend the cruffin. The croissant-muffin cross comes filled with jam, salted caramel or meringue. There’s no BYO cup discount, but a small coffee is a reasonable $4.
