Sometimes all you want is a simple sanga done well, and that's what new Collingwood deli Hi Fi is hoping to accomplish. It's run by the same group behind Terror Twilight and Tinker, and you can expect a curated selection of loaded bagels, sandwiches and burgers.
Think hearty fillings like smoked beef brisket, panko chicken, peppered mortadella, crumbed fish and mushroom ragu. For sides, you can get curly fries mixed with Old Bay seasoning and coleslaw made with cabbage, carrot, chives, celery and topped with a zesty dill pickle dressing.
The drinks list offers expertly roasted coffee, a variety of sodas and several thick milkshakes in flavours like ginger malt, chocolate sea salt and salted caramel. You can even add a shot of espresso to your shake if you're after a decadent pick-me-up.
As the name indicates, another element you can expect from Hi Fi is great music. While you wait for your order, a fun and eclectic mix of vinyl music will always be on rotation.
Hi Fi opens on January 27. It will be takeaway only and open daily from 9am to 3pm.
