Yep, meatballs and ball jokes are coming to add even more dining frenzy to Smith Street. Josie Bones has moved out and the painters and decorators have moved in. We were sad to see the venue finish up – Josie Bones has always been a strong supporter of local craft brewers, and we’ll miss her meaty ways. But, there are silver linings. Taking over the space will be the third instalment of Meatball and Wine Bar – the New York-style purveyor of balls, ball jokes and Italian wines that Melbourne just can’t get enough of – which will open in April after a quick refit, with an upstairs bar to follow. It’s not all bad news for craft beer fans, either. Just down the street, beer boss Tiffany Waldron – better known as@beergirlbites – is opening her own brew-focused venue, Two Row, in March.
