Pressed Juices: Melbourne

Pressed Juices is the new kid on the block and Melbourne’s first cold-pressed juice bar. Cold pressing is a process that ensures more vitamins, enzymes and minerals are maintained from the fruit and vegetables than any other juicing method. The focus at Pressed Juices is all about nourishing your body, so the team can guide you through the benefits of each different juice and – if you're up for it – make suggestions for a cleanse. The juices are bottled every morning and have a shelf life of three days, so you can buy a few to stock up at home. Iced coffee lovers should try the espresso almond mylk for caffeine with a health kick, which is a blend of almonds, espresso, dates, vanilla beans and sea salt.

Melbourne does excellent Acai bowls, and delicious juices are easy to find. One banger of a cafe that serves both of these is Pressed Juice, which we visited in the CBD (Central Business District) one weekend. The temperature was beginning to soar, and an ice-cold smoothie bowl was exactly what we needed. I ordered a Mango & Coconut smoothie bowl ($11) which was topped with crunchy granola and a dried pineapple ring, and washed it down with a Smooth Peanut Butter smoothie made with Cashew Mylk, Banana, Peanut Butter, Dates, Raw Cacao and Vanilla Bean; thick, sweet and indulgent ($9.50)
