Ricotta Festival

  • Food and drink

From salads and pizzas to pancakes and toast, there's virtually no food that wouldn't improve with the addition of ricotta. The delicious soft white Italian cheese is a marvel, and if you're among its many fans, you can celebrate it at the upcoming Ricotta Festival on March 26 hosted by That's Amore Cheese.  This year, the festival is supported by Puopolo Artisan Salumi, Harcourts Rata and Co and Pizzini Wines. You will, of course, be celebrating Italian-style by tasting fresh, hot ricotta straight out of the vat and feasting on all manner of Italian dishes. This includes gnocchi sorrentina, porchetta rolls and burrata along with freshly filled cannoli from Cannoleria.  When you're ready to switch things up a bit, you can also enjoy pizzas from Primo Pizza, potato on a stick from Curly Spuds, cold treats from Boca Gelato, Sicilian charcoal barbecue from U'fuculari and gluten-free bruschetta from Senz Gluten-Free. As for beverages, Aperol Spritzes, Brachetto cocktails, wines, beers and more will be on offer.  This year, lively Italian music and performances will be provided b Grupo Vallenato Cumva Band, Melbourne's Tarantella Dancers and DJ Stefano Marciano. And before you go, don't forget to stock up your pantry with goodies from vendors like Bippi Chilli Oil, Battisti Olive Oil and Pasta, Il Baronello Vinocotto, Imbue Distillery, Backyard Honey, Barkly Smokehouse and Puopolo Artisan Salumi.  Tickets are $8 until the end of February and $10 after (if they aren't sold out by
