Time Out says

Mornington's Main Street makes room for a newly restored mainstay with the reopening of the Bay Hotel

The Bay Hotel's reopening earlier this year has had Mornington locals rejoicing as they welcome back a Main Street staple. Set in the former Commercial Bank, the heritage building now houses a public bar, dining room, sports bar and band room. Consider booking the Vault, the private dining area accessed through a secret hatch, for your next special event.

The revamped menu includes small snacks like prosciutto with pickles and kingfish sashimi with oyster cream, and substantive pub fair favourites like bangers and mash, fish and chips and beef and vegan burgers. Or plan to visit on a Sunday to enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast which changes week to week. From local craft beers rotating on tap, to a wine room where customers can browse an extensive selection of wine, the Bay Hotel is the spot for a leisurely afternoon of drinks with friends, or a celebratory night out.

Restored by Liam Ganley (Ganley Group, Angus & Bon, Freddie Wimpole’s) and designed by Studio Y, the Bay Hotel's ambiance draws on Australian pub culture, with a touch of Irish flair, has resulted in the renovated space being shortlisted for Best Bar Design and Best Identity Design by Eat Drink Design Awards.

Whether it's a pint and a parma in front of the footy, or a glass of bubbles with market oysters in a cosy leather booth, the Bay Hotel is a popular weekend hangout spot for Mornington residents and those from further afield.
