Lygon Street pay attention. Some of the best pasta in Carlton is happening at Thirty Eight Chairs. The second iteration of this South Yarra eatery, Thirty Eight Chairs took the place of the old Paragon café on Rathdowne Street back in 2016.
Pasta is the star of the menu, especially the spaghetti with pork ragu ‘a Genovese and the ‘e maccarun ‘a Cacciator, which pairs long maccheroni pasta with slow-cooked duck ragu, porcini mushrooms and just the right amount of shaved pecorino cheese on top. Antipasto plays a strong supporting role, and the bar offers wine on tap, including prosecco, sangiovese, rose and pinot grigio.
