Three words - banana iced coffee

What the Ziegote team lacks in pro-edge, they make up for with personality – and a coffee spiked banana smoothie. Seriously, order it. Ice cream, coffee (their own roast, incidentally) and banana, it’s so wrong it’s perfect. This is a lets-have-a-go venture by two mates (one, a furniture designer, hence the proliferation of hand built block stools), and while their enthusiasm is endearing, inexperience shines through in an overly ambitious menu. Breakfast plays it safe (eggs Benedict, Florentine and pancakes with maple and cinnamon), and you could do worse than find yourself negotiating a charred roti wrap with a slap of salad and relish. But the 11(argh!) pasta combos, whole barramundi, curries and a noteworthy half duck for $22, spells trouble for a tiny joint. But we reckon they’ll figure that out for themselves. In the meantime, pop in for a house-made muffin, a chat, and to have a doodle on the chalkboard surfaced communal table.
