Spend your Sunday browsing local crafts in the former Sarah Sands’ beer garden
When the Sarah Sands Hotel – known to Brunswick locals as Bridie O’Reilly’s – shut its doors in April, not-for-profit Co-Ground Coffee moved.
Located on the corner of Sydney Road and Brunswick Road, this spot of prime real estate also holds a monthly artist market in the beer garden, where you’ll find more than 30 artist stalls selling a range of local goods. Whether it’s jewellery, paintings or ceramics you’re after, head down from 9am to support local crafters, listen to some live music and dig into barbecue eats.
While you’re there, grab a coffee from Co-Grounds’ volunteer-powered coffee caravan where 100 percent of the profits go to charity projects in the Asia Pacific region. The theme is very much about giving with these guys: the space has been provided by Peregrine Projects, the coffee has been provided by Five Senses and the coffee machine is a gift from the folks at La Marzocco, so it's a treat not only for your belly, but also for your soul.
