Muses come in many forms, and Melbourne born fashion designer Virginia Martin's is the ocean. Since launching Búl in 2010, she's used a different coastal environment as the inspiration for each of her womenswear collections, including New Zealand, Estonia, Japan, Denmark and Scotland, while spring/summer 2016 take inspiration from Sri Lanka. "I thought if i could incorporate travel and the ocean, then it would always bring me back to a good place," Martin says.
Búl specialises in statement pieces that somehow manage the balance of being laid back, elegant, cool and interesting – it's minimalism with edge. "They're all very clean and simple, with attention to detail that sets them apart," says Martin.
