There seems no stopping the arrival of quality mid-range retailers opening up stores in our CBD. Most recently we’ve had UNIQLO and H&M, and before long, we’ll have our own Sephora.
Like Zara, Desigual is a Spanish brand with stores all over the world. It’s set to open in October this year in Melbourne’s recently re-vamped Strand Arcade, which is annexed to Emporium Melbourne.
Don’t know Desigual? If you love colour, then the brand is about to become your best friend. Let’s put it this way: if the UNIQLO look is all about carefully pairing block colour basics together, then Desigual is more about chucking the whole paint palette at a cute fitted dress and seeing what sticks – in the most stylish way possible, of course. Most of the women’s, men’s and children’s clothing is on the more casual side, but there are certainly some striking summer dresses and collared shirts that would brighten up your work wardrobe, too.
